Waterline Consulting, was born from lived experience of 10 years within the ocean space. It now works internationally at the intersection of surfing, ocean sport, access, conservation and governance — strengthening how inclusion operates within ocean systems.

Waterline was founded by me, Yvette Cave, a Churchill Fellow, researching global pathways for inclusive surf governance and ocean access, Waterline brings international comparative insight into national sport, conservation and brand ecosystems.

Surfing is often sold as freedom; Conservation as universal; Governance as procedural
In reality, access to ocean spaces, participation in environmental movements and influence within marine decision-making are shaped by history, culture and power and thus, leave many excluded from any input.

I work with inclusion and equity at the core. The importance of co-creation and understanding of the desired outcomes is the best way to full success and change. I do not wish to helicopter in and out - I want to partner, collaborate and assist with growth, change and positive impact.

With the creation of Waterline, I want to grow equitable ocean access by strengthening governance, representation, and stewardship across surf and conservation systems. We can enhance conservation through joy and connection.
