In early 2023 I worked with another consultant to support GB Surfing plan their priorities in their early stages of EDI in the organisation. This led to the establishment of an EDI Advisory Board in 2025 at our suggestion.

Working with the team to design and deliver a workshops to help advocacy and activism rooted organisations and individuals work more collaboratively with greater understanding.

My role as Equity Diversity & Inclusion Manager enabled the creation of the organisations first ever EDI Strategy and the introduction of groundbreaking research and guidance all for Open Source Learning.

I created two sector first reports into surfing and diversity. These led to the introduction of inclusion advisory boards for surfing National Governing Bodies.

As a member of the Women's Sports Collective Advisory board, the ability to have a voice in the growing popularity of women's sports and ensuring equity at all levels and having a surfing voice in a mainstream setting.

Having sat on the Advisory Board for this festival in 2025, helped enable local knowledge and the critical importance of community and collaboration.

I have been a keynote speaker at this sector leading conference, a contributor to their Ocean Justice Series and now sit on their event steering group to help ensure future events are accessible and placing equity centrally in their planning as part of an amazing team.

As a member of the Core Team to brig the World Surfing Reserve to North Devon (the first UK reserve and the 12th globally), I have been lucky enough to help shape the long term goals of the reserve to ensure 'Waves for all, forever'. I now sit on the stewardship council and will be helping shape their EDI work in 2026.

As long time friends and champions of equitable practice, I have spoken on many panels with the team here and even been lucky enough to present work to their team and wider community as part of their Ocean Talks roadshow in stores nationwide.

The creation of an exhibition on the surfing history of British Women and girls was a work of passion and commitment to history, storytelling and community. This provided a platform locally and across the country to celebrate history but also to secure this as a permanent part of the museum.
